A Little About Me

Hi, I’m Kayla! Wife, mom of five, professional hype girl, and the face behind Madelyn Rose Photography.

I was born and raised in Minnesota and started photography there in 2014. In 2016, we traded snow boots for sunshine and moved to Arizona — and somehow I’m still excited every time we get a rainy day.

At home, it’s me, my husband and our 5 kids. We are a big baseball family, so there’s a pretty good chance that when I’m not holding a camera, I’m sitting at a ballfield somewhere with caffeine in hand.

After raising this many kids, very little scares me at a family session. 😂 Your toddler doesn’t want to smile? That’s okay. Your kids are being wild? Even better. I’ll make poop jokes, do ridiculous dances, play games, and completely embarrass myself to get the real laughs. You don’t need perfectly behaved kids for beautiful family photos.

Weddings are my other happy place. Consider me your photographer + built-in wedding bestie. I’ll hype you up, fix your dress, calm the nerves, tell you what to do with your hands, keep an eye on the timeline, and probably end up on the dance floor at some point.

And the name? ♡

Madelyn Rose Photography is named after our daughter, Madelyn Rose, who was stillborn at 20 weeks in 2016. Carrying her name into something I love makes this business incredibly special to me.
